Appian Way E-Bike Tour

The Appian Way, begun in 312 BC, is one of the most atmospheric places in Rome. On an electric bike you can cover much more of it, and rolling over old stones makes you appreciate the engineering.
A guide leads you along the road and into the Appian Way Regional Park, pointing out tombs, ruined villas and the surviving arches of the aqueducts. Without cars on much of the route, the ride feels far away from the city, and the umbrella pines make for great photographs.
The tour is a good choice for active travellers and families with older children. E-bikes and helmets are provided. Check current details for start times and Sunday arrangements.
