Colosseum Underground & Arena Floor Tour

The Colosseum looks very different from below. On this small-group tour a local guide takes you through the security queue with priority entry and straight to the parts of the monument that standard tickets do not reach: the arena floor and the hypogeum, the maze of tunnels, lifts and cages that once fed gladiators and wild animals into the spectacle above.
The guide explains how the building was constructed, how the games were organised, who attended and how the structure was repurposed over the centuries. With only twelve guests, you can ask questions and hear properly using the headsets, even in busy periods.
The visit finishes after the upper tiers, where the views of the Forum and the Arch of Constantine give a sense of how the monument sat in the ancient city. Special-access slots are limited and are released in advance, so we recommend sending an enquiry as early as possible. Start times shown are typical; check current details when you enquire.
